Gnarly Old Tree

Narly Tree (1) (640x638).jpgThis type of old tree has to be my favorite type of subject to paint. It just has so much character and probably a very interesting history of all it has endured.

This painting was done on 8×8 Gesso board which I like very much. It seems to force me to paint in a looser style, which I also like.

I live in Juneau, Alaska where the inspiration in nature abounds! I love taking photos of this beautiful place and then painting them. In 2013 I left my job in order to devote more time to my artwork. One of the ways I have been learning, is through online tutorials.
